Vagabond’s Prayer

I turn my back to the cold rain and wind

I’m lost on a journey and I can’t see the end

Got a pack on my back, but no food to eat

Don’t know if I’ll make it through the cold rain and sleet

I carry with me only things that I need

I’ve got to stand fast and not feel the greed

That I witness in others I pass on the way

I think it’s time I stopped to pray

Chorus:

Lord, won’t you help me get through this this time

Don’t misunderstand me, there’s so much on the line

I just need direction, to where, I don’t know

Wherever You lead me, I surely will go

And Lord, won’t you help me to stay on the path

I don’t have to be first, but, don’t make me last

Please open my eyes, Lord, so I can see

What I have to do, so I can be me

Maybe this time I’ve gone too far

I know that they’re up there, but I can’t see the stars

It’s been so hard and it never ends

So I turn my back to the cold rain and wind

Chorus:
